SFC Awards

Militaries throughout history have rewarded their soldiers with honors, and StarFleet Command is no exception. Awards serve to encourage excellence, and help to provide Starfleet personnel with a sense of their own worth and Starfleet's appreciation of them. This point should not be underestimated, since many individuals have to sacrifice a great deal in order to establish a career in Starfleet, and often are unable to have or maintain families, homes, or other "traditional" symbols of self-worth.

Starfleet Awards

Federation Order
These are the only awards given by the Federation (rather than Starfleet) for combat services. The Federation Order is reserved for officers who provide exceptional services in combat and are literally responsible for protecting Starfleet and the Federation as a whole. These ribbons are awarded on two criteria; the amount of games played, and the amount of these that are won. These are possibly the most prestigious awards given by the clan, and attaining them requires the highest possible standard in combat.

Federation Order of Merit:
40 games played, 90% (36) or greater won.

Federation Order of Distinction:
50 games played, 90% (45 games) won.

Victory Awards
Victory Award are given to combatants who show a certain level of skill while facing the enemy. This ranges from the ability to destroy single enemies up to performing multiple dangerous missions successfully. These awards are given on the basis of the number of battles won against the enemy during a period of war.

Distinguished Service Ribbon:
5 Games Won (War)

Golden Starburst:
15 Games Won (War)

Starfleet Star:
25 Games Won (War)

Combat Awards
These are awarded to those who put their lives on the line in combat against an opposing force. The awards are not designed for highly skilled aces, but for those who valiantly hold the line, win or lose. They are awarded based on how many games are played during a hostile war.

Conspicuous Gallantry Ribbon:
10 Played (War)

Valor Cross:
25 Games Played (War)

Starfleet Cross:
40 Games Played (War)

Simulation Awards
This range of award is given for taking part in a simulated war with friendly forces. Due to the friendly nature of the event, there are no awards specifically for victories and losses.

Combat Readiness Ribbon:
10 Played (Friendly)

Nebula Star:
25 Games Played (Friendly)

Legion of Merit:
40 Games Played (Friendly)

Federation Awards

Federation Ribbon:
Participated in 75% or greater of the missions during a period of role play

President's Ribbon:
Participated in 90% or greater of the missions during a period of role play

Cluster Ribbon for Dedication:
This award is granted to members who play a significant non-combat role during a role play, but are not extensively involved in setting it up (this is covered by the Presidential Award with Palms, shown below).

Presidential Award with Palms
Awarded to players who take on an integral role in role playing. This is a far more prestigious award than the Cluster Ribbon, and is granted for those who are heavily involved in the role playing aspect of the clan, for example members who help to write and run events such as the Great War simulations.

Federation Achievement Ribbon
Awarded to Starfleet personnel for relatively minor achievement in areas not covered by other award. Greater achievements are covered by the Federation Commendation below.

Federation Commendation
The Federation Commendation is awarded for the same reasons as the Federation Achievement Ribbon, but the achievement and/or service provided to the clan must be of a much higher level and shows genuine dedication to the clan through the amount of time spent on the task and/or it's complexity.

Meritous Service Ribbon
Awarded to a member of the clan who provides a service to other members, usually in the form of real-life assets such as game servers, teamspeak and website hosting as well as for donations.

Ribbon of Excellence
Awarded to those who willingly provide a gaming service to the clan over a period of time. Examples of this are for those who consistently recruit new and succesful members into the clan and those who help other members learn new skills through training.

Reality Awards
Unlike any other award, these are unique in that they are awarded to honour those who serve the fleet during real-life hardship. They are reserved for the most challenging of situations and are extremely rare.

Purple Heart
This rare award is given to those who continue to serve Starfleet Command throughout periods of personal hardship, from physical illness through to the loss of a loved one. This award is based on real-life events and is unique in that it is not a gaming or achivement medal.

Red Crest
The Red Crest and was rendered largely redundant by the Purple Heart; but due to the importance of the award is included here for reference. Even combined, the Purple Heart and Red Crest are rarer than any other award given in the history of Starfleet Command.

Training Awards
These are awarded for completing specific tasks during official training sessions.

Training Attendance
Awarded by the Division CO to those that successfully participate in a minimum of 5 official practice sessions within a calendar month.

Fleet Awards
These are awarded for specific actions that have benefited the fleet.

Officer of the Month
Awarded to member of the fleet, who has, contributed more then what is required in his/her division/squad and has gone out of his/her way to make a division/squad more enjoyable for all the members.

Recruiting Award
Presented to the member of the fleet whom have shown outstanding results in recruiting new members to the fleet.

Academy Awards

Graduate with Honor
Presented to the Academy Graduates whom have demonstrate honor in their studies while going through academy training.

Graduate with Distinction
Presented to the Academy Graduates whom have demonstrate distinction in their studies while going through academy training.
